Freshmen admitted to the university and interested in living in university owned and operated housing (excluding Capstone Properties – Paca House and Tubman House) may go online starting February 1, 2018, 9:00 a.m. – May 1, 2018, 5:00 p.m. E.T. to apply for housing. Students who are not able to pay the deposit online using a credit card can request a housing payment form by emailing housing AT_TOWSON or calling Housing & Residence Life at 410-704-2516.
For University Housing you must complete the online process. This includes paying a $350 non-refundable housing deposit* and agreeing to the terms and conditions of the housing contract. By paying the $350 non-refundable deposit and signing the housing contract the student is committed to living in University Housing for the 2018/2019 academic year. Once admitted to the university, you will need to activate your student email address in order to logon to the Student Housing Gateway (see the 2018 To Do List for more details). Once in the gateway, you will be required to pay the $350 non-refundable housing deposit, agree to the terms and conditions of the housing contract for the academic year 2018/2019, and request other housing options. After having completed the online process, a confirmation will be emailed to your Towson Email address confirming your housing for the 2018/2019 academic year.
*Please Note: Since Paca and Tubman Houses are not operated by the university, the non-refundable Housing Deposit paid to the University is not transferable to Capstone. Also, any monies paid to Capstone cannot be transferred to the University.
Spaces for the Spring 2018 semester are extremely limited. On or after December 8th, students on the interest list will be contacted in the order in which their request was received.
If you are interested in housing for the Spring 2018 semester, you can complete our Interest List form online. Should space become available, Housing & Residence Life will communicate with you through your Towson email address and you will be required at that time to pay a $350 non-refundable housing deposit in order to secure housing.
If interested, you can apply to live in housing which is managed through Capstone On-Campus Management (Paca House and Tubman House, are residence halls located on university property but managed by Capstone). Apply to live in Paca or Tubman by completing the required application. You can also visit the university website at Off-Campus Housing that provides listings of off-campus housing options in the community for you to consider.
Just a reminder that you have committed to an academic year housing contract with the Department of Housing & Residence Life, and we anticipate your return to university housing for the spring 2018 semester.
If you are not to planning return to University Housing for the spring semester (as stated in paragraph 17 of your Housing Contract), you may request a release from your current housing contract ONLY for the following reasons:
If you meet one of the criteria listed above and would like to request a release from your housing contract, please come to the Housing & Residence Life Office, (Marshall Hall, suite 50 – across from the West Village Garage) to complete the appropriate forms.
All requests for release from the Housing Contract must be submitted no later than Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Be sure to bring appropriate documentation to substantiate your request (i.e. letter from Study Abroad Office, etc.) in order for your request to be considered.
