coordinates the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is an academic model that uses peer-facilitated study sessions for students taking historically difficult courses. SI for Fall 2026 will be available from August 30th to December 4th.

Supplemental Instruction (SI) was designed at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) and is an academic model that uses peer-facilitated study sessions for students taking historically difficult courses.
SI is provided for all students who want to improve their understanding of course material and improve their grades. The SI sessions are free, regularly scheduled, informal review sessions geared towards helping to develop organizational tools.
Sessions are led by SI leaders who are students who have previously taken the course and done well.
SI sessions are offered for select sections of the following biology and economics courses:
SI leaders attend class with students currently enrolled in courses that offer SI (see above) each week and host regularly scheduled review sessions. Participating students bring their course materials and actively engage in the activities facilitated by the leader. The study sessions focus on the most challenging important material already covered in the course.
SI will be available as drop-in sessions for the courses listed above. Sessions will be available from August 30th to December 4th..
Please note: All schedules are subject to change and will be announced by the SI Leader. Check our weekly emails and TracCloud for up-to-date room locations and schedule changes.
