Services for Faculty & Staff

We offer online resources, customized workshops and classroom visits to assist faculty and staff with supporting students academically.

What support is available?

Faculty and staff may request a workshop or classroom visit by one of our staff members. Workshops generally run between 15-60 minutes and may cover up to two topics (see topic list below).

Workshops can be scheduled before a class or meeting. You may also request a session outside of our regular office hours; however, we cannot guarantee staff availability. A minimum of 10 attendees is required for evening/weekend presentations.

Available topics to be covered:

  • Overview of Tutoring and Learning Center Services
  • Applying StrengthsQuest Talents to TU Academic Life
  • Creating Awesome Presentations
  • Group Project Do’s and Don’ts
  • Keep Calm and Pass the Test
  • Manage Your Stress for Success
  • Note Taking Strategies
  • Preparing for Finals
  • Read Faster, Read Smarter
  • S.M.A.R.T. Time Management
  • Study Skills 101
  • Study Smarter, Not Harder
  • Study Strategies for Math and Science
  • The Art of Remembering

How do I request a session?

Complete the Request a Workshop Form. A minimum of two weeks advance notice is requested to allow time to arrange for a presenter. Please note: most workshops require computer/internet access, projector and speakers. It is the responsibility of the requester to provide a space that has this equipment when making this request.

Requesters have the option to reserve a space (if/when available) in the Tutoring and Learning Center for groups up to 35 people, if needed.

We offer a series of workshops on a variety of learning strategies. Currently our workshops are offered online.
