Tiger LEAP Job Shadowing Program

Spring Break • March 20-24, 2023

Tiger LEAP Job Shadowing Program allows students of all class years the opportunity to explore potential career options and gain a better understanding of their field of interest as it relates to their major(s) and/or minor(s). By observing a day in the life of a TU alum or employer host, students can learn about the skills, abilities, and knowledge needed to be successful in that particular field.

Why participate? 

Students will have a wonderful opportunity to experience a “Day in the Life” of an alum or employer. Students will gain a professional resource who can help gain knowledge about a particular field and insight into an organization or industry. In addition, students can observe and learn what skills and knowledge are required for the job and develop networking contacts for future internships or job search.

What is required to participate in the Tiger LEAP Job Shadowing Program?

Students are responsible for the following to participate in the program:

  • Apply by the deadline Friday, March 3 at 5 p.m.
  • Attend one mandatory Student Information Session
  • Once matched, it is the student's responsibility to make contact with the TU alum or employer host to arrange a job shadow date/time/location
  • Prepare for the experience by researching the organization, developing questions to ask, and practicing a 30-second commercial or “elevator pitch”
  • Attend the job shadow experience and be engaged
  • Complete a survey and send a thank you email
