Hackerman Presidential Polytechnic Scholarship

The Hackerman Presidential Polytechnic Scholarship is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year.  There are multiple awards from this scholarship.

The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics (FCSM) announces the availability of Hackerman Presidential Polytechnic Scholarships, a donor-funded scholarship for incoming freshmen students from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute who are committed to major in a program housed in the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics.   These scholarships are renewable up to three additional years as long as the student remains a major in the Fisher College and in academic good standing.  Listed below is general information about this scholarship.

Eligibility and Criteria:
  • Incoming freshmen from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute admitted to pursue a major in a program housed in the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics.
  • Enrolled as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours).
  • Demonstrate outstanding academic potential based on high school record, especially in science and mathematics courses, a personal statement of career plans, and letters of reference from high school teachers.
Award Amount:

Covers the full cost of in-state tuition for the academic year, and is renewable up to an additional three years.

Application Procedure:

Before you begin filing out the application you must do the following:

  1. Write a personal statement expressing your career plans. This can be in either Word or Adobe PDF format and must be no more than one page.
  2. Optionally, scan your ACT or SAT report to an Adobe PDF file.

  • In the PowerForm Signer Information screen, type in your first and last name and you email address. Then click on the BEGIN SIGNING button.
  • Optional click to accept cookies.
  • Click on the CONTINUE button.
  • Fill in the information requested in the red boxes. Note, do not included dashes in the telephone number.
  • Click on the “paper clip” to attach your “personal statement.”
  • Optionally click on the” paper clip:” to attach your ACT or SAT scores report.
  • Click on the Sign button.
  • Click on the FINISH button to submit your application.
  • Contact Ms. Kate Wickham in the Counseling Center at your school to request letters of recommendation from two teachers and a copy of your high school transcript.  The Counseling Centre will email all documents to FCSM@towson.edu.  This email should have your name and the scholarship you are applying for in the subject line of the email.
