What is Gender Inclusive Housing?
Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) is a voluntary housing option where students can be
assigned to live in the same room with any other student regardless of sex assigned
at birth, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation.
Who is eligible for Gender Inclusive Housing?
Gender Inclusive Housing is open to all students.
Students need to complete the Gender Inclusive Housing Agreement according to deadlines
and qualify for on-campus housing.
First year (freshmen) students, Transferring students, and Returning residents who indicate an interest in Gender Inclusive Housing will be assigned within university
housing as long as they have paid a housing deposit to Housing & Residence Life by
the stated deadline.
Returning residents that did not have a 2022-2023 contract with university housing
who have an interest in Gender Inclusive Housing will need to contact Millennium Hall and select Application/Forms.
What are the dates and process to indicate an interest in Gender Inclusive Housing?
Incoming First year students and Transferring students can indicate an interest during the online housing contract process for University
Housing. The deadline to complete the Gender Inclusive Housing Agreement is May 1,
2023 at midnight.
Returning residents not currently in Gender Inclusive Housing must complete the Gender Inclusive Housing Agreement by April 1, 2023 at 5 p.m. If
a returning resident is selected for GIH, they will receive a follow up email from
Housing & Residence Life, where they can select a roommate(s) and select a preferred
building assignment.
Residents currently in Gender Inclusive Housing will need to complete the gender inclusive housing application by April 1, 2023. GIH
is not automatically renewed each year.
Returning and Transferring students can indicate an interest during the Millennium Hall contract process and after, based
on availability.
Completion of a Gender Inclusive Housing Agreement does not guarantee an assignment
in a GIH room/apartment.
