Virtual Workspace & Remote Access

When off campus, faculty, staff and students have options for accessing Towson University applications, email and network.

Some links might require login with TU NetID and password to access.

The Virtual Workspace

The Virtual Workspace service provides University employees access to certain software applications, virtual desktops and network file shares from any off-campus computer or device. Students have the ability to remotely use applications like SPSS, Mathematica and Minitab. This web-based service is the preferred method for TU's remote access. Remote Desktop

The Remote Desktop Gateway service enables TU faculty and staff to remotely connect to their Windows-based campus computer from off campus. Learn more about using Remote Desktop on a Mac or PC.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

The Virtual Private Network is used by faculty and staff needing to map to a network drive or connect directly to a personal or departmental drive. Learn more about using VPN on a Mac or PC. Students needing to use TU’s VPN for a class should contact Student Computing Services to request access.
