The Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures offers undergraduate programs in Chinese, Deaf Studies, French, French Education, German, Italian, Japanese, Linguistics, Spanish, and Spanish Education.

Majors

French

The concentration in French broadens your knowledge of the language as well as literature and civilization. 

French Education

The French Education concentration gives you the skills to teach the language in the United States and abroad. 

Spanish

The concentration in Spanish broadens your knowledge of the language as well as literature and civilization.

Spanish Education

The Spanish Education concentration gives you the skills to teach the language in the United States and abroad.

Minors

Minors give students majoring in other disciplines the language background they need to broaden and enhance career opportunities.

Courses

In addition to Deaf Studies, French, Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish for which we offer a major and/or minor, the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures offers courses in Arabic, Greek (Ancient), Hebrew (Biblical and Modern), Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Swahili.
