TU supports academically strong students seeking to advance their educational and career goals through highly competitive fellowships and awards available in the United States and abroad.
Fellowships and awards are available to support undergraduate and graduate study, research and public service. Competitive candidates demonstrate international experience, participation in research, record of accomplishment, community service and outstanding leadership roles.
How to Apply
Students interested in applying for competitive external fellowships, scholarships and awards are encouraged to review our website to identify awards for which they may be eligible.
Once you have identified an opportunity, you may send a draft of your application to Dr. Mary Sajini Devadas (tucfa AT_TOWSON), director of Competitive Fellowships and Awards, or Dr. Fran Botkin (fbotkin AT_TOWSON), assistant director of Competitive Fellowships and Awards.
For scholarships and fellowships that require nominations, students must follow campus timelines. For questions contact Dr. Mary Sajini Devadas (tucfa AT_TOWSON).

Successful applications typically include:
- a clear, succinct, and focused personal statement
- a strong academic résumé
- strong letters of recommendation from faculty
- a well-developed proposal for future research, study, or other proposed activities, when required
