National Scholarships and Fellowships

The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship Program presented by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) provides $2,000-$10,000 awards to students dedicated to career paths deterring fraud and white-collar crime. In addition to their scholarship, recipients also earn a full year of ACFE membership.

The AMA Foundation Collegiate Scholarships are a series of awards given to marketing students active in their campus communities and dedicated to making positive changes. The AMA provides scholarships open to all students as well as some open only to active AMA members.

The Antonoplos & Associates Legal Scholarship is designed to support highly-driven students pursuing careers in law, business, and related fields.

The Berkman Foundation Marketing Scholarship is a $2,000 merit-based scholarship awarded to students pursuing an accredited marketing degree.

The Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship recognizes exceptional graduate and upper-level undergraduate students with two $10,000 awards. These scholarships encourage accounting careers in state and local government.

The Mike Lancaster Sophomore Merit Scholarship presented by the National Dairy Shrine encourages students interested in pursuing careers in the dairy industry through a $1,500 award. Dairy industry interest areas range from economics and accounting to veterinary science and genetics.

The Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Graduate Fellowship Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by Howard University, attracts and prepares outstanding young people for Foreign Service careers in the U.S. Department of State. Upon successful completion of a two-year master's degree program and fulfillment of Foreign Service entry requirements, fellows can work as Foreign Service Officers, serving in Washington, D.C., and at a U.S. embassy, consulate or diplomatic mission around the globe. Students will receive up to $42,000 annually for a two-year period for tuition, room, board, books, and mandatory fees for completion of two-year master’s degrees. This includes up to $24,000 per year for tuition and mandatory fees and an academic year stipend of $18,000.

The BD Scholarship was established by Becton, Dickinson, and Company in partnership with UNCF to provide a merit-based award to current juniors and seniors who are enrolled full-time at any UNCF member institutions, other HBCUs, or any accredited four-year college or university during the 2024-2025 academic year.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must be in biomedical science, biology, life sciences, microbiology, global health, nursing, pharmacy, or science technology. business-related field, such as marketing, finance, sales, or human resources. Preference shall be given to students who are residents of Maryland.

The UNCF Colgate-Palmolive X UNCF Inspire Our Future Scholars Program provides need-based scholarships and wrap-around support opportunities that include participation in an annual webinar, UNCF’s Early Talent Opportunity Program, and a UNCF Student Leadership Conference for ten (10) students beginning in their sophomore year. The Program will provide a renewable, need-based, scholarship of up to $5,000 during the 2024-2025 school year, up to $7,000 during the 2025-2026 school year, and up to $8,000 during the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must be Communications, Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Industrial, Mechanical, Packaging) or Engineering Technology. Applicants must have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2024-2025 academic year, and have a demonstrated unmet financial aid need, as reported to UNCF by the applicant's institution.

In partnership with UNCF, Element Fleet has developed the UNCF Element Fleet Scholarship to provide need-based scholarships to African American college students who are interested in business- and business-related fields. This scholarship opportunity is open to students who are juniors and seniors in the fall of 2024 with priority given to applicants with majors (including but not limited to: accounting, business, human resources, finance, marketing, sales, supply chain management). Preference will be given to candidates who are attending school in Baltimore, Maryland, Owings Mills, Maryland or Hopkins, Minnesota.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must be a (Black/African American. Applicants must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must be in business-related fields, such as marketing, finance, sales, or human resources. Applicants must have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2024-2025 academic year, and have a demonstrated unmet financial aid need, as reported to UNCF by the applicant's institution. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. National or permanent resident.

The UNCF PSEG Foundation Scholarship is directed towards African-American students, who are incoming freshmen attending a four-year college or university within the United States within the 2024-25 Academic year. The candidates must major in one of the following academic fields: Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, and Computer Technology.  

The candidates must be a permanent resident of New Jersey and Long Island, New York. In addition, the students will be eligible for scholarship if they continue to meet the program criteria and have unmet financial determined by their Financial Aid Office.

  • Eligibility: Students must be African American / Black, pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, and Computer Technology. Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.75 and be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. national or permanent resident. Students must be permanent residents of New Jersey and Long Island, New York.

International Scholarships and Fellowships

A joint program of German Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS7) and DAAD, this program offers students a full academic semester of study abroad at one of the UAS7 universities in Germany followed by a one-semester professional internship experience in a company or research institute in Germany. Must be currently enrolled as sophomores or juniors in one of these fields – engineering, science, life sciences, business, management, economics, architecture, art, design, journalism, social work. If selected, you will receive a full tuition waiver for both semesters and are also eligible for a DAAD Scholarship or a UAS7 Travel Scholarship.

  • Eligibility: Students studying Arts, Social Sciences, and STEM, including: engineering, science, life sciences, business, management, economics, architecture, art, design, journalism, and social work. International applicants welcome.

Office of Competitive Fellowships and Awards: Summer Fellowships

The Office of Competitive Fellowships and Awards at Towson University offers a summer fellowship each year that supports two students engaged in efforts to effect positive change in communities on- and off- campus, and that fosters TU student leaders working for the public good. Activities include community engagement, internships or research occurring over a 10-week period in the summer. Collaboration or partnership with an external organization is encouraged. Students are required to identify a faculty mentor for their project. The stipend for 10 weeks is $5,000. Faculty mentors will receive a stipend of $1,000.

Opportunities with Nonprofit Organizations

The East-West Center offers a semester internship experience for undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates to gain first-hand training experience at a US-Indo-Pacific research and education organization in Washington, DC. Applicants typically have a strong interest in US-Indo-Pacific relations. They may be studying international relations, Asia studies, international economics, international political economy, public policy, international business, or other similar areas of study. Full-time participation comes with a $2,000/month stipend. Stipends are prorated for part-time participation and may count as university credits if your school permits. Applicants outside DC are welcome, but residence in the DC metro area is preferred.

  • Eligibility: Applicants typically have a strong interest in US-Indo-Pacific relations and may be studying international relations, Asia studies, international economics, international political economy, public policy, international business, journalism, or other similar areas of study. However, all students and recent graduates who are interested in learning more about US-Indo-Pacific relations are encouraged to apply.

Established by Aritzia, a fashion retailer with an innovative global platform, this scholarship supports LGBTQIA+ people in their pursuit of higher education. Four students will receive one-time scholarships of $5,000 each, paid directly to the student’s school. Centered on Aritzia’s values, the scholarship prioritizes students who demonstrate excellence and creativity and who strive to make a positive impact on their communities. 

  • Deadline: Spring annually
  • Eligibility: Be an openly self-identified member of the LGBTQ+ Community. US Citizen or legal resident. Students must study, plan to work in, or demonstrate a commitment to the fields of fashion design, retail management, mental health, or social justice advocacy.
