National Scholarships and Fellowships

The DAR Marian Anderson Legacy Scholarship provides a $5,000 award to music students committed to serving their community. Strong candidates demonstrate humanitarian or volunteer service  experience.

The Disability Arts + Dreaming Fellowship provides self-identified disables artists with financial, logistical, and collaborative support for beginning projects. Proposed projects need to be based in New York City and should center disability or disability culture. Fellows also have the additional opportunity to edit the PUSH/PULL online journal, present their research and project development a the annual Culture Push Symposium, and exhibit their work at a public Culture Push presentation.

The LAGRANT Foundation (LFG) is an organization dedicated to making the advertising, marketing, and public relations fields more inclusive. LFG Scholarships follows this mission by awarding undergraduate students $2,500 awards and graduate students $3,750 awards. All scholarship recipients also participate in a three-day program in Washington, D.C. This program includes intensive career building activities, such as career development and professional workshops.

  • Eligibility: marketing, communications, and mass communications majors, or any majors emphasizing advertising and public relations.

The Mister Rogers Memorial Scholarship provides project funding for graduate students interested in the role of children’s media in childhood development and education. The $10,000 scholarship can be applied to research or the development/production of children's media production.

The Education & Communication Scholarship presented by the National Dairy Shrine awards students pursuing a career in dairy industry education or communication with a $2,000 scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on leadership experience and academic achievement.

As global leaders in sustainable architecture and engineering, Stantec provides the Equity & Diversity Scholarship to support the next generation of industry leaders from historically underrepresented communities. Scholarship amounts range from $1,500-$10,000 based on specific needs articulated by applicants. Applicants will also be able to apply to additional paid internships. Candidates are considered from their educational and career goals, community service, and leadership experience.

The UNCF Colgate-Palmolive X UNCF Inspire Our Future Scholars Program provides need-based scholarships and wrap-around support opportunities that include participation in an annual webinar, UNCF’s Early Talent Opportunity Program, and a UNCF Student Leadership Conference for ten (10) students beginning in their sophomore year. The Program will provide a renewable, need-based, scholarship of up to $5,000 during the 2024-2025 school year, up to $7,000 during the 2025-2026 school year, and up to $8,000 during the 2026-2027 school year.

  • Eligibility: Applicants must be Communications, Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Industrial, Mechanical, Packaging) or Engineering Technology. Applicants must have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must have completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the 2024-2025 academic year, and have a demonstrated unmet financial aid need, as reported to UNCF by the applicant's institution.

International Scholarships and Fellowships

We fund 18 scholarships per year, comprised of 16 Churchill Scholarships in science, mathematics, and engineering, and two Kander's Churchill Scholarships in science policy. It is for one year of master’s study (courses run between 9 and 12 months) at the University of Cambridge. The award covers tuition, roundtrip airfare to the UK, visa fees and health surcharge, and a stipend that is set 5% higher than the UK Research Council standard. Recipients are eligible to apply for a $4,000 special research grant. The total value is around $65,000.

A joint program of German Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS7) and DAAD, this program offers students a full academic semester of study abroad at one of the UAS7 universities in Germany followed by a one-semester professional internship experience in a company or research institute in Germany. Must be currently enrolled as sophomores or juniors in one of these fields – engineering, science, life sciences, business, management, economics, architecture, art, design, journalism, social work. If selected, you will receive a full tuition waiver for both semesters and are also eligible for a DAAD Scholarship or a UAS7 Travel Scholarship.

Office of Competitive Fellowships and Awards: Summer Fellowship

The Office of Competitive Fellowships and Awards at Towson University offers a summer fellowship each year that supports two students engaged in efforts to effect positive change in communities on- and off- campus, and that fosters TU student leaders working for the public good. Activities include community engagement, internships or research occurring over a 10-week period in the summer. Collaboration or partnership with an external organization is encouraged. Students are required to identify a faculty mentor for their project. The stipend for 10 weeks is $5,000. Faculty mentors will receive a stipend of $1,000.

Opportunities with Nonprofit Organizations

Women’s Studio Workshop envisions a society where women’s visual art is integral to the cultural mainstream and permanently recorded in history. Their mission is to operate and maintain an artists’ workspace that encourages the voice and vision of women and trans, intersex, nonbinary, and genderfluid artists. They provide professional opportunities for artists at various stages of their careers and promote programs designed to stimulate public involvement, awareness, and support for the visual arts. WSW maintains facilities for etching, letterpress, papermaking, book arts, silkscreen, 3D work, ceramics, and photography.

During the Studio Internship, WSW hosts a team of studio interns who work directly with the Studio Manager and Artistic Director. You’ll work on projects that may include printmaking, letterpress, papermaking, and book arts, in addition to assisting with the ongoing operations of the facility. Studio interns are crucial participants in WSW’s creative community. You’ll be asked to work hard and in return will be encouraged, supported, and challenged in your artistic lives.

Yaddo offers residencies to professional creative artists from all nations and backgrounds working in one or more of the following disciplines: choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. Artists apply individually. Peer review is the keystone of our selection process, with different panelists each season. Residencies last from two weeks to two months and include room, board, and a studio. 

All artists whose work falls within the five disciplines we serve are encouraged to apply. Those who qualify for Yaddo residencies are either working at the professional level in their fields or are emerging artists whose work shows great professional promise. An abiding principle at Yaddo is that applications for residency are judged solely on the work's quality. Yaddo places no publication, exhibition, or performance requirements on artists in residence.
