Fitness

In addition to a facility full of state-of-the-art exercise equipment, the Campus Recreation Fitness program offers many services that guide participants into a healthy lifestyle by providing group fitness classes, equipment orientations, fitness assessments, and personal training.

Towson Campus Recreation Fitness

Fitness Floor

The fitness floor is found on the first level of the Burdick Hall Campus Recreation facility. It includes a wide array of weightlifting equipment from Matrix Fitness that includes dedicated weightlifting platforms, plate-loaded machines, accessible strength training machines, and selectorized equipment. In addition, there are plenty of dumbbells, plates and benches to train the entire body. This level also includes a core and recovery area and a small variety of cardio equipment such as bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, and Krankcycles.

Cardio Floor

The cardio floor is located on the second level of the facility. It houses over fifty pieces of Matrix cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and climb mills, plus some more unique pieces to add variety to any cardiovascular training routine. There is also a small area with mats and medicine balls for core work and stretching.

Functional Floor

The functional area is located on the second level of the facility. This unique area encourages training the body for the way it lives and moves, using independent fitness tools such as kettlebells, suspension ropes, body weight, and gravity. Two Queenax structures facilitate this functional fitness concept as well as several Matrix S-Drive sled-mills. A sprint hill with a 20% incline also adds a fun element of training.

The Jungle

The Jungle Fitness Course is a ninja warrior inspired course designed to incorporate challenging elements of jumping, climbing and balance to create a fun and engaging fitness workout.  The course compliments the functional training area with a three-truss frame system that provides fifteen different and exciting elements to challenge all fitness levels.

Mezzanine

The Mezzanine is located above Gym One and can be accessed through the first floor of Burdick Hall or on the second floor near the Sprint Hill. Please keep our track and stairway clear and head to the Mezzanine for dumbbell training, ab work, stretching, and jumping rope.
