The Towson Marriott has been acquired by Towson University to satisfy the need of housing for our incoming Transfer Student population. Transfer students will be able to pay a housing deposit and select an apartment in 10 West starting March 1, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. Below are some frequently asked questions. 



Who is eligible to live in 10 West?

The only students who are eligible to live in 10 West for the 2018-2019 academic year are newly admitted Transfer students to Towson University beginning in Fall 2018 who are full time enrolled students taking a minimum of 12 credits per semester.

What are the apartment lay outs?

Will I have a roommate?

A majority of the apartments are single occupancy apartments. There are limited 2 bedroom apartments. All bedrooms are single occupancy.

What is included in the apartment?

Each apartment includes a bed, desk, closet, and dining room table & chairs. 

Is there laundry in each apartment?

A select number of apartments have laundry included in the apartment. For apartments that do not have laundry in the unit, there will be a community laundry room located on the first floor.

Do I have to have a meal plan?

Meal plans are required for those living in an apartment with a convenience kitchen. Students living in an apartment with a full kitchen do not have to have a meal plan, but can choose one if they want.

What is the cost?

There are 3 different price points for apartments: $4,494, $5,232, and $5,385 per student per semester. View the chart below for cost per resident.

Are there any Residential Learning Communities in the building?

No, at this time there are no Residential Learning Communities in the building.

Will I be able to return to 10 West for a second or third year if I choose to return to University Housing?

Yes, you will be able to return to 10 West for year two, you may also return for year three based on credit eligibility at that time.

How do I sign up?

The process will begin on March 1, 2018. If all spaces are filled, you will be able to place yourself on an interest list, we will contact you if space becomes available.

What if I decide to cancel after I have paid my deposit?

The $350 housing deposits is non-refundable. If you choose to cancel your contract you must contact Housing & Residence Life at housing@towson.edu from your Towson University email account.

Where will I park? 

A parking pass must be obtained through Parking Services. A limited number of spaces will be available for parking in the garage underneath the building.

What is the staffing in the building?

The building is staffed by Housing & Residence Life professional and student staff. There is a full time Master level Residence Life Coordinator, 7 RA’s, and Community Center Staff.

Can I switch buildings?

No, if there are spaces within the building to switch you may speak with your Residence Life Coordinator. You will not be allowed to move to any other building.

How many apartments are in the building?

There are 188 apartments in the building.
