Computer Science Tutoring

Walk-in tutoring is available for select computer science courses on a weekly basis during the fall and spring semesters, in the York Road building  at the Computer and Information Science (CIS) Tutoring Station (next to 4th floor Atrium)

What tutoring is available?

Walk-in tutoring is available during the fall and spring semesters for the following courses:

  • COSC 109 (Computers & Creativity )
  • COSC 111 MS-Office (Applications)
  • COSC 175 General Computer Science
  • COSC 236 Computer Science I
  • COSC 237 Computer Science II
  • ITEC 231 Web Technologies
  • ITEC 274 Systems Administration

Where and when is tutoring offered?

Tutoring for computer science courses is offered in the 7800 York Road Building, at the CIS Tutoring Station (next to 4th floor Atrium). Service is available on a walk-in basis (see schedule below).

Tutors Druv Narain and Turhan Kimbrough will be available at the CIS Tutoring Station. All sessions listed below are available from 02/03 - 05/07.

Come prepared. 

Compile a list of questions and bring all relevant course materials (e.g., class notes, textbook(s), returned tests or quizzes, etc.) to your session. Tutoring sessions can be canceled if you arrive unprepared. 

Get to know your tutor's role.

All peer tutors are recommended by TU faculty members and their job is to assist you in understanding significant course concepts, develop problem-solving strategies and suggest study techniques. Tutors will not complete or assist with specific homework, project, writing and/or research assignments. Tutors may not be able to answer all questions.
