Incoming Students
What To Do Once You Are Accepted
Complete the tasks outlined on the TU in Northeastern Maryland Enrolled Checklist.
Important note: TUNE has its own required orientation program for new transfers. Incoming TUNE students should not register for or attend the orientation programs for Towson University main campus students. Please register for the TUNE orientation by accessing the checklist linked above.

Taking Courses Outside of Towson University
Students must submit a Transfer Petition Form to receive permission to register for a course at another institution. This form can be found on the Registrar’s Office’s Forms page. Certain restrictions are outlined in the instructions on the form.
Students with financial aid packages should also contact the Financial Aid Office at 410-704-4236 to ensure that their award will not be affected.

Library
The Library and Learning Commons at TU in Northeastern Maryland offer students access to library services with the ability to order books from TU's Cook Library as well as from any University System of Maryland school. Students have immediate access to electronic journals and articles as well as physical access to a small print collection in Suite 202. The Assistant Director is the representative at TU in Northeastern Maryland and is available to assist students, faculty, and staff. Café
TU in Northeastern Maryland offers a café that is open Monday through Thursday during lunchtime hours (typically 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.). The café will be closed during the winter and summer terms. The menu includes sandwiches, soups, salads, yogurt parfaits, personal size pizzas, chicken tenders, nachos & cheese, French fries, and hot dogs. Outside of café hours, beverages and other food items are available in the vending area.
Parking
Parking is free at TU in Northeastern Maryland. No permits are required.
However, vehicles parked on the main campus in Towson must have a valid TU permit or purchase a ParkMobile App permit during enforcement hours. Please review the Parking Services webpages for further information if you plan to visit the main campus.
Closures and Emergencies at TUNE
TUNE partners with Harford Community College and follows their closing decisions in the event of inclement weather and emergencies. TUNE does not follow closing decisions made for the main Towson University campus.
In the event of closures or emergencies, all TUNE faculty, staff and students will receive a message to their TU email address. All TUNE students are also automatically enrolled to receive text message alerts about weather or emergency closings at TUNE. To change the cell phone number registered to receive these alerts, please email Chris Elliott, TUNE Administrative Assistant, at cmelliott AT_TOWSON.

Accessibility & Disability Services
Accessibility & Disability Services provides individual services and facilitates accommodations to students with disabilities.
Student & University Billing Office
The Student & University Billing Office provides information on tuition and costs, billing, payment plan options, rebates and more.
Career Center
If you’re looking for an internship, summer job or a full-time position after college, the Career Center is the place to start your search. TUNE students can also access career support resources in the building.
Civil Discourse
The Resources for Civil Discourse page shares policies, offices and resources that support active engagement, dialogue and civil discourse on campus.
Computing Services
If you need access to multimedia equipment, computers or software for your courses, or just need technology support, contact Technology Support Desk. TUNE also has an open access computer lab for students to use.
Counseling
The Counseling Center offers individual counseling, as well as other services to students, including alcohol and drug abuse counseling. TUNE students can access counseling services virtually.
DACA
Information for prospective and current undocumented students is available, including immigration policy updates and financial aid options. See Frequently Asked Questions about DACA and the Dream Act.
Diversity Resources
The Center for Student Diversity offers a variety of student programs and services designed to foster inclusion, collaboration and relationship-building.
Emergency Funds
The Student Emergency Funds and Resources assist TU students who are experiencing an exceptional financial crisis that impedes their academic progress and success.
Financial Aid
TU's financial aid programs, from grants and scholarships to loans and student employment, help to keep a TU education affordable. Financial education resources are available to help students and parents navigate college finances.
Food Insecurity and FoodShare Programs
The FoodShare program at TUNE provides food and personal hygeine products to students free of charge. Main campus also has Food Insecurity and FoodShare Programs as resources for students facing food insecurity issues.
Health Center
The Health Center on main campus provides health and wellness services for TU students, ranging from physical exams and STD testing to lab services and smoking cessation counseling. See all services.

Mature/Non-traditional Students
TU offers a number of resources tailored to the needs of mature and non-traditional students who may be balancing the demands of a job or family while pursuing a degree.
Meditation Services
TUNE has a meditation lounge available on the ground floor for use any time the building is open. The lounge features a massage chair, yoga mats, and equipment to play guided meditation programs.
Military & Veterans Center
Resources and services for veterans and students connected to the military are collected in one place at the Military & Veterans Center.
Recreation
Students have free access to all Campus Recreation facilities on main campus, including the fitness center, gymnasiums, pool and turf fields. You can sign up for group fitness classes, outdoor trips, intramural sports and more at the TU Campus Rec Portal.
Student Accountability & Restorative Practices
The Office of Student Accountability & Restorative Practices enforces TU’s “Code of Student Accountability.”
Student Outreach & Support (SOS)
The Student Outreach and Support team helps students navigate the university’s processes across a wide range of departments and services. They provide coordination of care, on- and off-campus referrals and interventions, and assist students in crisis during and after an experience or life event.
University Store
You’ll find the University Store at the Union on main campus. It’s the place to purchase and rent textbooks, buy clothing and gifts, and even schedule repairs for your mobile device. The University Store provides pop-up events at TUNE throughout the semesters, including at orientation sessions.
Voting
All eligible students can use TurboVote to register to vote, change their registration address, request a mail-in/absentee ballot, or receive reminders about upcoming elections. Visit Voter Registration & TurboVote for more voter information, resources and opportunities to get involved.
