Aid Calendar

This calendar summarizes TU admission and aid deadlines for freshman applying for Fall 2024 admission.  Other schools may have different deadlines.

September – November

  • Take the SAT or ACT if you choose to do so.  TU is currently Test Optional.
  • Visit college campuses and attend college fairs. View our Undergraduate Open House Schedule and register online.
  • Apply for admission.  To apply for TU scholarships, freshman must submit a complete application for FALL admission (including transcripts) by November 15

December

January – March

  • For priority consideration for TU’s need-based grants, you must submit your 2024-2025 FAFSA and a complete fall admission application (including transcripts) by March 1, 2024.
  • Look for your acceptance letters. Towson University tries to inform students of acceptance within six weeks of receiving an admission application.
  • Visit the Towson Online Services Student Dashboard to active your Net ID.  Then, start regularly checking your online To Dos list because we may request additional information to complete your aid application.
  • Once you are offered admission, the Financial Aid Office will start communicating with you through your TU email account. If you already have a primary email account that you check regularly, to avoid email delays, we strongly encourage you to automatically forward your TU email to your primary email account. Follow these TU gmail or Outlook forwarding instructions.

March – April

  • Attend admitted student events.
  • If you were offered admission to Towson University and submitted a FAFSA, we will send you a financial aid offer. To review and accept your TU aid, follow the instructions in Your Award Guide.
  • Continue to check your To Dos list at Towson Online Services.
  • Choose the school you want to attend.

By May 15

  • Many schools including TU have a May 15 admission decision deadline. Submit your enrollment contract and deposit to TU.

May – June

August – September

  • Start school.
