The Counseling Center is available during regular hours (Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) to help students with an emergency or crisis.

What Is an Emergency Service?

Any risk to health or safety certainly qualifies as an emergency, e.g., suicidal thoughts, thoughts of harming others, or difficulties taking care of yourself. There are other reasons as well to seek an emergency appointment, such as being in a lot of distress.

How Do I Make an Appointment for an Emergency Service?

What if the Counseling Center Is Closed?

When the Counseling Center is closed, you still have access to emotional help if you need it by using the resources below:

Towson University Police Department are able to reach Counseling Center staff as needed in an emergency. Call 410-704-4444.

You can also proceed directly to the nearest hospital emergency room. We have a number of hospitals in the area, including St. Joseph’s Medical Center and Greater Baltimore Medical Center.
